Who We Are
Our Mission
The mission of Lafayette Church of God is to fulfill the commission given by Jesus Christ.
The commission of the church is to proclaim the gospel of the coming Kingdom of God and to preach repentance and remission of sins to all nations. In addition, we are commissioned to teach all nations to observe all things commanded by Jesus and to edify those who choose to become disciples through baptism. (Matthew 28: 18 – 20; Mark 1:14 -15; 16:15; Luke 24: 46 – 48; Ephesians 4: 11 – 16)
About Us
We are a present-day congregation of the Church of God that was established by Jesus on the day of Pentecost in the first century. (Acts 2)
We observe the seventh-day Sabbath and the commanded annual Holy Days given to ancient Israel which were also observed by Jesus, the apostles, and the New Testament church. (Genesis 2:1-3; Leviticus 23; Luke 4:16; Acts 17:2, Act 3:2:1) We believe these days reveal God’s plan of salvation for all mankind.
